Those countries accepted, the continent was rebuilt, and Marshall is credited with one of the most positive defining acts of economics, politics, and ethics in the last century. But when you look at the thinking that went into the Marshall Plan, the reasoning behind the details, you see that it would have been a great decision regardless of the outcome.

Immediately following the war, the European nations had put significant effort into restarting their economies. But they were doing it with borrowed dollars, needing to import far more than they were capable of exporting. Many economies needed modernization, which was impossible to fund while paying for imports at the same time. Without full economic recovery in Europe, there was great danger of a recession, or even a second depression. Basically, Europe needed money.

Internet readers have very short attention spans -- around eight seconds in length -- and the headline is one of the critical first elements that help readers decide if they want to click and stay on your site. Background: Advances in the understanding of migraine trigger points have pointed to entrapment of peripheral nerves in the head and neck as a cause of this debilitating condition. An anatomical study was undertaken to develop a greater understanding of the potential entrapment sites along the course of this nerve.

Methods: The posterior neck and scalp of 25 fresh cadaveric heads were dissected. The greater occipital nerve was identified within the subcutaneous tissue above the trapezius and traced both proximal and distal. Its fascial, muscular, and vascular investments were located and accurately measured relative to established bony landmarks.

Results: Dissection of the greater occipital nerve revealed six major compression points along its course. The deepest (most proximal) point was between the semispinalis and the obliquus capitis inferior, near the spinous process. The second point was at its entrance into the semispinalis. The previously described "intermediate" point was at the nerve's exit from the semispinalis. A fourth point was located at the entrance of the nerve into the trapezius muscle. The fifth point of compression is where the nerve exits the trapezius fascia insertion into the nuchal line. The occipital artery often crosses the nerve, and this frequently occurs in this distal region of the trapezius fascia, which is the final point.

Conclusions: There are six compression points along the greater occipital nerve. These can be located using the data from this study, serving as a guide for surgeons interested in treating patients with migraine headaches originating in these areas. Long-term relief from migraine headaches has been demonstrated clinically by using both noninvasive and surgical decompression of these points.

In vivo studies of the remainder of the spinal cord vasculature are extremely difficult owing to the smaller caliber of these vessels often beyond the resolution of imaging. In addition, the substantial anatomic variability of these vessels and their complex course makes their identification virtually unattainable. Nonetheless, to interpret imaging findings with abnormally dilated branches and plan surgical or endovascular procedures, we must have a more extensive knowledge of the spinal cord vascular anatomy. Therefore, we must necessarily turn to postmortem studies to obtain information related to the small-caliber spinal cord circulation. Because postmortem studies of the spinal cord circulation are so infrequent and technically demanding, our knowledge regarding the posterior radiculomedullary arteries to this date is scant. Of those studies available in the literature, conflicting evidence and inaccuracies are not uncommon. In addition, the nomenclature for the same vessel often varies, leading to further confusion.

For a touch base meeting to be deemed great, action items must be followed up on after the meeting to move closer to attaining objectives or goals. Draw up action items throughout the meeting with an owner, a clear description, and a deadline.
